Sparkling Apple and Cranberry Champagne Cocktail
Happy New Year's Eve! How do you like to ring in the new year? Party? Bar hop? Curled up with a good book and asleep before the ball drops? Since I grew up in New York, I've always associated this night with Times Square. But I've actually never gone there for the annual ball drop.
Not that I'll be starting that tradition tonight either. Especially since the temperatures are expected to be at their traditional arctic NYE levels. I kind of like watching it all on TV from the warmth and comfort of my own home.
Don't get me wrong, though. I spent many years bar hopping around the city on NYE and I've been more than a little drunk on champagne. But in the interest of waking up refreshed on New Year's Day, I find that tempering the bubbly with a bit of apple and cranberry adds to the flavor and cuts down on the hangover. However you're celebrating tonight - Cheers!
Per Serving:
1 oz. Apple juice
2 oz. Cranberry juice
3 oz. Champagne or sparkling wine
Add the apple and cranberry juices to a champagne flute and top with 3 or more ounces of chilled champagne or sparkling wine. Garnish with fresh cranberries, if desired.

This is such a perfect champagne cocktail for the hot summer weather here in Australia. Glad it's the holiday season so i can make it and enjoy it!
