Salted Caramel Triple Threat Chocolate Martini
Let's talk about cocktails with salted rims. We think about margaritas, right? Those huge, double sized frozen margaritas, served at my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant, that were responsible for a few sessions of dancing on the bar back in the day. Oops, I digressed. OK, let's talk about chocolate instead. As in, it makes the perfect romantic cocktail.
This drink, though, is a lot of chocolate and I'm a big fan of sweet and salty together.
I think so much sweet becomes more interesting with a touch of salt. Like a luscious chocolate bonbon topped with a few sprinkles of sea salt at those fancy confectionery stores.
A little sip of sweet, a little salt on the tongue, a little buzz from the vodka and I'd say it will be a very happy Valentine's Day. Cheers!
Per Serving:
1 1/2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Buttershots caramel liqueur
1/2 oz. Creme de cacao
1/2 oz. Chocolate liqueur
1 oz. Chocolate ice cream
1 oz. Milk
Sea salt for rimming
Place some sea salt in a shallow dish. Wet the rim of a cocktail glass with water and roll in the salt. We're not looking for a thick salt coating like on a margarita, just a touch. Refrigerate for a few minutes to set. Combine the vodka, caramel liqueur, creme de cacao, chocolate liqueur, milk and ice cream in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake well to break up the ice cream. Pour into the prepared glass.
